Instructions for Electricity cards drinking game

Are you looking for an easy-to-play cards game for 3-6 players? I’m delighted to tell you that you’ve come to the right place. If you like games that get you and your friends drunk in a short time, the Electricity party game might be just right for you.

Watch out though, you’d be shocked how fast this game might turn off some of the players’ lights. Those who stay in charge of their consciousness, however, will find this game as ecstatic as we do. Enough of those electricity puns now, here are the rules 👇⚡

Things you need to play Electricity

• Deck of cards
• 3-8 Players
• Beer or other drinks that won’t kill you right away

Rules of Electricity

Players sit in a circle and cards will be handed out evenly. Now, the player right to the dealer turns his first card. Clockwise, the next player turns their cards.

Now, the game is all about building currents – or trying to not build them, to be precise.
You have to drink when building such a current. When does this happen?

If one card either matches one of the following characteristics as the one of the previous player.

• the number (2-10)
• the suits (hearts, diamonds, clubs, spades)
• the faces (J, Q, K, A)

In that case, both players have to drink as many sips as the value of the second card (J=11, Q=12, K=13, A=14).

Before the players take their sips, they wait for the next one to turn their card, as they might also join the current chain. For that to happen, the third player’s card matches in either value or suits the one of the second player. This goes on until a player breaks the break.

Additional rules of Electricity

To turn up the intensity of this game you can add a few additional rules.

• If there’s a chain of three times the same value (e.g. J, J, J), all players that are not involved in the chain take a shot.
• When there’s a Joker, all players involved in the chain (including the one who played the Joker) take a shot.
• When the chain reaches at least 5 players, all of them take a shot.
• When a 7 is played, everyone has to raise their hands. The last one to do so takes 3 sips.

If anything, this game will make sure to get you more than tipsy in a short period of time, so don’t be shocked when there will be some black spots in your memories. Say watt, joule see what I mean.
